SOCIAL MEDIA TOOLKIT

Continuing Education Courses for MSWs pivoting to 50-minute psychiatric sessions.

INR: offers in person seminars, but also numerous live, online webinars on a rolling basis on various topics for healthcare professionals, but a lot of the topics are applicable to social workers looking to improve their practice (ie. treating clients with PTSD, treating depression, etc)

PESI: offers CE courses and trainings for all sorts of mental health licenses on a wide range of topics.

Psych Seminars: they offer live online as well as on-demand courses for mental health professionals.

MSWs could also utilize NASW’s specialty practices sections, if you are interested in working with specific groups of clients/being able to connect with clinicians who treat specific populations for consultation purposes. In particular, the private practice specialty area may have relevant materials/resources/workshops.
*In terms of courses that cover “how to do therapy in general,” most of these courses are specific to treatment modality or diagnosis. Like, if I’m an MSW and I sign up with Octave, or Rula or another one of these telehealth/app-based mental health orgs, I may get a client dealing with depression, or I may get a client with difficult family issues, or OCD. Depending on the diagnosis, you could then poke around on these different sites and select courses that focus on current research and treatment methods for the diagnosis in question.
