Too often in California, patients are forced to scroll through the names of countless medical or mental health providers in their insurance company’s provider directory only to find out that many of them are no longer in-network or not taking new patients. These inaccurate lists are called Ghost Networks, and often result in delayed or denied care, sometimes with tragic consequences.
That’s why NUHW is in strong support of AB 280 (Aguiar-Curry), which sets enforceable standards for accurate provider directories and holds plans accountable when they fall short.
AB 280 will be coming up for a vote on the Senate Floor soon. Please email your senator now and tell them to vote YES on AB 280!
