Ashton Mota is a transgender teen activist and storyteller from Massachusetts. At 15 years-old, he was one of the faces of the state’s Yes on 3 campaign, which held up an earlier law protecting transgender people in public accommodations. His participation in GenderCool, a storytelling project for nonbinary youth, led to an invitation to speak at the White House, sharing his experience of being transgender and a person of color. Mota has also authored resources to help youth who are navigating their gender identity.
