We had several guests on our picket lines today, headlined by California State Treasurer Fiona Ma addressing workers at LAMC. She talked from the heart about her family’s mental health needs, and noted the increased need for mental health therapy in the aftermath of the wildfires.
“Everything that you are fighting for is so important for so many more of us now,” she told the workers. “And we need you more than ever… We stand strong with you.”
CWA members joined us on the picket line in Anaheim today, and UFCW members joined us in San Diego, where the county labor council provided lunch for everyone.
Sign Our Unity Petition
To win this strike, we have to show Kaiser that everyone remains united in our commitment to win a contract that treats us fairly so patients can access the care they need – even if they had to go back to work. To deliver this message loud and clear, we ask that everyone sign on to our unity petition using their employee ID number.
Day 100 And Upcoming Actions
Tuesday marks the 100th day of the strike. To commemorate it, we will be reading stories submitted by patients at the picket lines and holding vigils honoring Kaiser members who have struggled for far too long to get timely, appropriate care from Kaiser.
On Thursday, we’ll have a more festive theme, celebrating Lunar New Year.
We’re planning a big rally with guests and supporters outside LAMC, Friday, February 7, which is the day after our last scheduled bargaining session. The picket line will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the rally will be from noon to 1 p.m.
Come to Bargaining
Our next bargaining session will start at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 29 at the Hilton Hotel Glendale. Sign up to attend.
