On Wednesday, August 27, nearly 100 NUHW members joined our virtual town hall to learn about building unity in times of political uncertainty.
We discussed NUHW’s Sanctuary Union status and the actions our union has been taking, the current state of our nation’s democracy, and what’s been happening in our state and our local communities.
NUHW members offered important insights and ideas on how we can collectively push back against the ongoing attacks on immigrants, workers, and access to health care.
“We need to collaborate and educate ourselves and our communities, because when we do that together, we create more hope for the future and feel less alone in this fight,” Leslie Laxson, a psychiatric social worker with Kaiser Permanente in Bakersfield said during the town hall.
