NUHW unflinchingly stands with Dolores Huerta, and we always will. She has been a foundational part of our union since its founding and remains our only honorary member. We also stand with Ana Murguia, Debra Rojas and any other woman harmed by Cesar Chavez.
The farm worker movement is not about any one person; it’s about thousands of people who have joined together to improve their lives, inspiring generations of Americans. Farm workers contribute so much to our country and our movement. We believe that anything named after their union’s founding president should be renamed in their honor.
As a union that represents thousands of mental health therapists, our members understand the harm that sexual violence inflicts upon individual survivors, their loved ones and their communities. We commit to continuing our organizing efforts against these types of atrocities in the movements to which we belong.
