We met with the Employer face to face today for less than 30 minutes and once again they avoided responding to our more important proposals. During that time, however, we did exchange a handful of proposals and did reach three tentative agreements:
- Non-Discrimination – the Employer agreed to our last proposal to add gender expression, genetic information, reproductive health decision making and military status as protected classes
- Student Loan Repayment Program – we agreed to keep the program status quo while the Employer agreed to set June of each year as the intended payout date
- Assignment at Multiple Sites – the parties agreed to make this section its own Article in the contract, with no change in language
We used our time in caucus to prepare several proposals to present at our next bargaining session this Thursday, including on Performance Improvement Bonus, Retirement Plans, Telecommuting and various sections of Article XVII – Wages (other than annual increases). We also look forward to receiving some more substantive proposals from Kaiser.
