National Union of Healthcare Workers endorses Kamala Harris for president

Español

EMERYVILLE, CA — The National Union of Healthcare Workers proudly announces its endorsement of Kamala Harris for president of the United States. Our endorsement is based on two decades of experience working hand-in-hand with Vice President Harris to improve the lives of California’s working families and reflects her leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to defending democracy.

“We have supported and worked with Vice President Harris from the beginning of her career,” said NUHW President Emeritus Sal Rosselli. “Our experience dates back to her farsighted work as San Francisco district attorney to ensure that first-time offenders got access to the job opportunities and healthcare services they needed to get back on the right track; to her leadership as California’s attorney general to protect communities from the impacts of hospital mergers and acquisitions, and to win back from Wall Street more of the funds they looted in the foreclosure crisis; and to her tenure as vice president, where together with Joe Biden she helped establish the most pro-worker administration in generations.”

“Kamala Harris’ strong advocacy for reproductive freedom and other vital health care services, for workers’ rights to join a union and have a voice on the job, and for economic and social justice for all U.S. residents have earned our endorsement for president of the United States,” said NUHW President Sophia Mendoza.
